Dr. Scionti is a recognized international specialist in the minimally invasive therapy of prostate cancer using image guided ablation therapies. He is the medical director and founder of the International Center for Mens Health in Hilton Head, SC. His practice is dedicated to the diagnosis of prostate cancer and minimally invasive prostate cancer therapy using HIFU and Cryotherapy. Dr Scionti is a world leader in HIFU treatment, research, and in the training of urologists in HIFU technology. Dr. Scionti has accepted a position as the Director of Prostate Cancer Ablation Surgery at the New York University School of Medicine and Langone Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Scionti is well known as one of the most active prostate cryosurgeons in the United States and personally performs over 130 prostate cryotherapy procedures per year. In addition, he has organized and teaches the National Cryotherapy Training Workshop several times per year for Endocare, training over 200 urologists yearly in the technique of prostate cryotherapy. He is an active researcher on cryotherapy outcomes and lectures extensively on this topic. CryoCare Center has been designated an International Center of Excellence for prostate cryotherapy.
Dr Scionti is recognized as one of the most experienced HIFU surgeons in North America today. Dr. Scionti offers HIFU to his prostate cancer patients at the International HIFU Centers in Mexico and the Bahamas monthly. He has developed expertise in this therapy and has taken a leading role in the development of training programs designed for American urologists.
